  • This car is heavily based on the 1971 Plymouth HEMI Barracuda, both in fascia and body shape, with raised suspension, roll bars, and a big wing like the ones the Plymouth Superbird and Dodge Charger Daytona used during the 1969 NASCAR season. (If you paint it orange, it looks a lot like the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard)
  • The car itself is a bit like the Stormrider, only slightly faster in general. It is definitely an improvement from the first mixed muscle car, and will be your go-to, mid-game, mixed-road champion.
  • On asphalt, the Stratospheric prefers to corner instead of drift, making it hug minor curves & turns. This also makes it a littler harder to activate "drift mode" when needed (like for hair-pin or 90-degree turns). Unlike other drifting vehicles, just laying off the gas while cornering won't necessarily send it drifting. Instead, it's better to start cornering then give the handbrake (yes, the handbrake) a quick tap. This will send you drifting / cornering, and then you just lay on or off the gas to shore it up as needed. The vehicle's mass ensures drifting doesn't send you flying too far, but if you do end up in the weeds its off-road performance is some-what forgiving (grip, acceleration & top speed seem to be halved, though). Dirt-road performance shows more willingness to drift, but it's manageable instead of wild, making it fun instead of annoying.
